Non-lethal
use of cetaceans through whale watching is largely expanding in most of
Latin American countries. This shows that the number of people who choose
to watch whales alive in their natural habitat is increasing. Giving direct
benefits to the communities that develop it, and promoting preservation
of marine natural resources, this activity is currently threatened by
the pressure of whaling countries to resume large scale commercial whaling.
Through this section you can learn more about this activity in each
country of the region, how they promote it and work to guarantee it
is conducted in a responsible way in order to ensure the conservation
of the species.
